LINE was approached by the HKS Sports + Entertainment group to propose three concepts for an existing arena bowl design in Macau, China. As most visitors enter the arena through a connected interior corridor from surrounding buildings, these concepts proposed a “thick” facade, where the exterior skin was clear enough to disappear, giving way to a vibrant interior lobby condition. The exterior at night would become the major spectacle of the development, clad in glass LED fins that would project to the outside the nights programmatic functions. Atop the arena a large LED screen would used to display event imagery to the casinos which looked down onto the arena.
